"...so the world may hear."

"Philanthropy is having the opportunity to enrich the lives of others. By taking only a few hours of my life, I could possibly change someone's life. It is such a humbling experience to see an act of kindness go so far in others hearts."

-Madi Brundage

National Philanthropy

Our national philanthropies, supported by both collegiate and alumnae chapters, are speech and hearing and The Painted Turtle camp. Through Delta Zeta’s philanthropy of speech and hearing, Delta Zeta has national partnerships with The Starkey Hearing Foundation, Gallaudet University, and the House Research Institute. Chapters also support other local and national speech and hearing organizations as well as various other causes. All of these important programs provide additional volunteer and giving opportunities for collegiate and alumnae members. The Painted Turtle’s mission is to provide a year round, life-changing environment and authentic camp experience for children with chronic and life threatening illnesses.

LOCAL Philanthropy

Texas State Delta Zeta held its second annual crawfish boil, where the chapter raised over $10,000 for Starkey. Along with our own event’s success, Texas State Sigma Chi held its annual Derby Days competition, in which our chapter came in first place, winning $1,000 towards the Starkey Hearing Foundation. We are proud of our philanthropic efforts, and we will continue to do our best to aid those in need.

Our chapter experienced a moment of fame from country singer, Josh Abbott, who handpicked Texas State Delta Zeta as the first-place winner of his own “Girls Down in Texas” Sorority Challenge. Thanks to the extensive efforts of our Philanthropy Chair, Madi Brundage, we won $10,000 towards Starkey and a private concert from Josh Abbott Band, which we are all fan-girling about.

Service to others enriches the world.
The Delta Zeta Creed says,
“To those whom my life may touch in slight measure; May I give graciously, Of what is mine.”

"Philanthropy is the kindhearted benevolence that humanity needs. It's the selfless act of giving back to others for the sole purpose of helping others in need. Philanthropy is love and the world could always use a little love."
